Asai vs Teflon

Proof In Every Pan
We built Asai after realising most pans hide more than they reveal. So we created cookware that puts evidence first.
Lab-tested every batch, with reports you can see. Trust earned, not assumed.
Questions we’d ask too
What is the Health Report? Can I see a sample?
Every batch is tested by top global labs for PFAS, heavy metals, and 70+ hidden toxins before it reaches you. We have nothing to hide - you can access these reports in the Asai Lab section on the website. It can also be scanned via the QR code recieved on the package.
How do I prevent dosas from sticking?
Preheat the Tawa on medium heat and lightly brush it with oil before pouring your batter for perfect, non-stick results. Let it cook and crisp up on medium heat. This will also retain maximum nutrition.
Can I use this Tawa for other dishes?
Yes, it’s great for making pancakes, paranthas, chillas, crepes and uttapams.
How long will my ceramic dosa tawa stay non-stick?
Ceramic pans need a little extra care to match the longevity of Teflon’s non-stick. Steer clear of metal utensils, high flames, and abrasive cleaners — treat your Asai Pan right, and it’ll return the love.
Are Asai dosa tawas as non-stick as Teflon pans?
Ceramic isn’t ultra non-stick like Teflon—and we’re okay with that. A light brush of oil gives you clean, even cooking without microplastics and toxins. The result? Food that’s as safe as it is delicious
Can I use dosa tawa on an induction cooktop?
Yes, this Tawa works on both induction and gas stoves, making it versatile for various cooking setups.
Can I use a metal spatula?
Metal spatulas are a strict no — they can damage your Asai pan’s surface. Use the silicone spatula included with your pan, or opt for a wooden one for equally safe cooking.
How can I deep clean my dosa tawa?
For the interior: Fill the tawa with water and bring it to a near boil for about 2 minutes. Pour out the water and place the tawa on a sturdy surface such as a wooden cutting board. Carefully use a soft sponge on the warm surface, this should do the trick. For the exterior: Mix baking soda and a little water to form a smooth paste; then use kitchen paper to rub the paste over the stained area (exterior surfaces only).
How do I clean the Tawa?
Allow it to cool before washing with a soft sponge and mild soap to preserve the coating. Avoid harsh scrubbers to maintain the integrity and longevity of the ceramic surface.
What is your warranty policy?
