Amazon Sale Dates 2026: The Complete India Sale Calendar
Every major Amazon India sale, what's already happened, what's still coming, and what's actually worth buying in each one
Looking for the Amazon sale dates for 2026? Amazon India runs the same rhythm every year — the Republic Day Sale in January, a Summer Sale in May, Prime Day in July, the Great Freedom Sale in August, and the Great Indian Festival running into Diwali. This page is the full calendar: which sales are already done, which one's still ahead, and — because we're a cookware company — which one is actually worth waiting for if a kitchen upgrade is on your list. We update every row the day Amazon confirms new dates.
Page status
Last checked 21 August 2026. Prime Day (4–6 July) and the Great Freedom Sale (7–12 August) are done for the year. The Great Indian Festival is next — Amazon hasn't announced dates yet, and we update this page the day it does.
When is the next Amazon sale in India?
Quick answer
The next major Amazon India sale is the Great Indian Festival, expected late September into the Diwali season — but Amazon hasn't confirmed dates yet. Everything else is behind us for 2026: Prime Day (4–6 July), the Great Freedom Sale (7–12 August), and the earlier Republic Day and Summer sales have all concluded.
Prime Day marked its 10th year in India this July and wrapped after 72 hours. The Great Freedom Sale followed in August, with Prime early access on the 6th and the main event running 7–12 August, then a shorter follow-on, Mega Deal Days, from 13–16 August. Both are covered in full in our Prime Day India guide. For what's coming next, see our Great Indian Festival 2026 guide — we update it the moment Amazon confirms dates.
Amazon sale calendar 2026: every major sale
Quick answer
Four of 2026's major Amazon India sales are already done — Republic Day, Summer, Prime Day and the Great Freedom Sale. Only the Great Indian Festival is still ahead, expected late September through the Diwali season, alongside Flipkart's Big Billion Days in the same window — neither has announced dates yet.
| Sale | 2026 dates | Status | More detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Great Republic Day Sale | January 2026 (dates vary) | Concluded | – |
| Great Summer Sale | May 2026 (dates vary) | Concluded | – |
| Amazon Prime Day | 4–6 July 2026 | Concluded | Full guide |
| Great Freedom Sale | 7–12 August 2026 (Prime early access 6 Aug) | Concluded | Full guide |
| Great Indian Festival | Expected late Sept–early Oct 2026 (unconfirmed); runs through Diwali | Expected — not yet announced | Full guide |
| Flipkart Big Billion Days | Expected same window (unconfirmed) | Expected — not yet announced | – |
A few honest notes on that table. Flipkart's Big Billion Days isn't an Amazon sale — we've included it because it always lands in the same window and people naturally compare the two; neither has announced 2026 dates yet. Amazon's own follow-on, Mega Deal Days (13–16 August), isn't a separate row here since it was an extension of the Great Freedom Sale, not a new event. And with Dhanteras falling on Friday 6 November and Diwali on Sunday 8 November 2026, expect the Great Indian Festival to run well into early November this year, whenever it opens. Prime Day is the one members-only sale on this list; every other event is open to everyone, usually with 12–24 hours of early access for Prime members.
Which Amazon sale has the biggest discounts?
Quick answer
The Great Indian Festival is Amazon India's biggest sale overall — widest selection, longest run, open to everyone — while Prime Day typically has the deepest per-item discounts on a narrower selection, exclusive to Prime members.
The honest answer depends on what you measure. By total scale, nothing beats the Great Indian Festival — it runs for weeks and covers nearly every category. By depth on a specific item, Prime Day often wins, because Amazon concentrates its sharpest deals into two or three members-only days. The January and August events sit in between: real discounts, smaller catalogues. Whichever sale you shop, the same rule applies — judge every discount against the product's real selling price the week before, not the printed MRP, because "70% off" an inflated MRP is the oldest trick in the calendar.
Which Amazon sale should you wait for to buy cookware?
Quick answer
For cookware, the two sales worth waiting for are Prime Day (July) and the Great Indian Festival (Diwali season) — buy long-life pieces there: Asai ceramic cookware (PFAS-free), triply stainless steel from Stahl or Vinod, Hawkins or Prestige pressure cookers, and cast iron from Lodge or The Indus Valley.
Kitchen and cookware discounts run deepest in the July and Diwali-season events, and durable categories are where the discounts are usually genuine — branded pressure cookers, triply and cast iron have well-known street prices that are hard to fake. We ranked the ten cookware deals worth grabbing — with Asai ceramic cookware on Amazon at #1 — in our Prime Day cookware deals guide; the same ranking holds for every sale on this calendar.
One more honest note: direct-to-consumer cookware (including Asai's ceramic range) is priced without marketplace commissions year-round, so the everyday direct price can match a marketplace "deal" price even before any sale starts. If you cannot wait for a sale window, you are usually not overpaying by buying direct today. And if you're shopping ahead for Diwali gifting specifically, our Diwali gifts collection doesn't need a sale to make sense — cookware travels well as a hamper add-on.
How do you prepare for an Amazon sale?
Quick answer
Three habits: wishlist your shortlist before the sale so Amazon alerts you to price drops, note each item's real selling price a week early, and check which bank card carries the instant-discount partnership — the card offer is often worth more than the headline deal.
For coated cookware specifically, add a fourth check: safety paperwork. A discount changes the price, not the coating — confirm whether a pan is PTFE-based or PFAS-free ceramic, and whether the brand publishes third-party lab reports. Asai keeps its SGS and Intertek batch test reports permanently public at Asai Lab — hold any sale-bin pan to the same bar.
FAQs
When is the next Amazon sale in India?
The Great Indian Festival is next, expected late September into the Diwali season — Amazon hasn't announced dates yet. Prime Day (4–6 July) and the Great Freedom Sale (7–12 August) have both concluded for 2026.
Which Amazon sale has the best discounts?
The Great Indian Festival is the biggest by scale — longest run, widest catalogue, open to everyone. Prime Day usually has the deepest per-item cuts on a narrower, members-only selection. Compare the printed MRP against the real pre-sale price either way.
Is the Great Indian Festival better than Prime Day?
Depends what you're buying. The Great Indian Festival wins on breadth — weeks long, open to everyone, the biggest overall selection. Prime Day wins on depth — sharper discounts concentrated into a few Prime-member-only days. For one specific cookware purchase, both are worth watching; for general browsing, the Great Indian Festival gives you more to look through.
When does Amazon announce sale dates?
Usually one to three weeks before the sale starts. That held for both the Great Freedom Sale and Prime Day this year, and we expect the same lead time for the Great Indian Festival — we update this page the day it goes official.
Do Amazon sale prices actually drop?
On genuinely popular, well-known items — yes, especially in categories with a clear street price like pressure cookers or triply cookware. The trick to watch for is an inflated MRP marked down to look bigger than it is; check the item's real price the week before any sale, not the printed one.
Which Amazon sale is best for buying cookware?
Prime Day and the Great Indian Festival have the deepest kitchen discounts. Prioritise long-life pieces: Asai ceramic cookware (PFAS-free, lab-tested) first, then triply stainless steel from Stahl or Vinod, a pressure cooker from Hawkins or Prestige, and cast iron from Lodge or The Indus Valley — always verify against real pre-sale prices.
The bottom line
Amazon India's sale calendar is predictable enough to plan around: January, May, July, August, and the long Diwali-season run. Four of those five are done for 2026 — only the Great Indian Festival is still ahead, and it hasn't been announced yet. Match the purchase to the sale — deepest per-item deals on Prime Day, widest selection at the Great Indian Festival — benchmark real prices a week early, and for anything with a coating, ask for the lab report before the discount. Asai's are always open at Asai Lab.
